Rotary Flexible Dies


The Atlas Chem-Milling family of Flexible Cutting Dies are custom designed for rotary die-cutting converters of folding cartons (Rotoplate, Rotocut), pressure sensitive materials, tags, envelopes, business forms, and specialty items (Apex, Summit). These dies are easy to mount and register and are available for all cylinder types (magnetic or non-magnetic) and a wide range of die heights.

 

Flexible Die Products:

Summit
Summit Die - Ideal for short run paper applications, the Summit Die is a chemically etched and hand sharpened flexible die. The Summit Die is generally lower in cost and has a shorter lead time for delivery.

 

 

Apex
Apex Die - A 100% machine sharpened knife edge, our Apex Die can cut many substrates / materials such as paper, laser labels, vinyls, Tyveks, mylars, films, face stocks, polyester and thin foils. Send us your "Hard to Cut Material" and let us prove it to you.

Both Summit and Apex Dies include the 801-B Surface Treatment.

Folding Carton Flexible Dies

Atlas Chem-Milling is the industry leader in the manufacturing of wrap-around magnetic dies used in the manufacturing of folding cartons. Magnetic Rotoplate
The Magnetic Rotoplate system utilizes Rotary Pressure or Burst cutting in a matched upper/lower die set. Rotary Pressure cutting, combined with hardened steel plates, yields long die life and excellent cut quality. For paperboards up to .030” (.75mm) thick, if you desire long die life and consistent cut quality for your medium to wide web systems, Atlas Chem-Milling recommends Magnetic Rotoplate dies.

Magnetic Rotocut
The patented Magnetic Rotocut system features “Crush Cutting” (CNC Sharpened) dies designed as a matched, upper/lower die set. Effective on paperboards up to .024” (.6mm) thick, these dies will cut and crease in a single operation. Crush Cutting yields a very flat, undistorted blank which is desirable in most applications. We recommend this system for narrow web systems, dedicated to short run, fast turn around work.
